Aveiro and the coast

Aveiro has the added attraction of the inland salt water lake, the “Ria de Aveiro”, formed at the mouth of the river Vouga. The winning of salt from the seawater is an ancient activity here that is still viable today.

The coast

It is an hour drive from Quinta de Bispos to the coast. Some beaches can be crowded, especially the ones near the two cities at the coast of Central Portugal, Figueira da Foz and Aveiro, but there are also many quiet beaches.
